Happy Earth Day Coalatree Family!
Although many stay at home orders are still in place, we hope that you can take this day to enjoy the simple things our Earth gives to us. Bask in the sunshine, water your house plants, and if safe, take a walk around your neighborhood.
In honor of Earth day, we wanted to highlight steps that Coalatree is taking to reduce our environmental impact. We have always been an eco forward company, and will continue to take a holistic approach in making sustainable outdoor products.
Our Gear
Most of our goods are made from recycled or repurposed materials. Our coffee collection is famous for its' repurposing of coffee grounds and recycled plastic. We are also transitioning to a waterless dye technique that saves thousands of gallons of water waste. Coffee based fabric has many naturally occurring benefits as well. Because all of the performance features are part of the fabric, not chemically added, these benefits will never wash out. This makes a better product for you and our planet!
Our Production
The factories that Coalatree uses are bluesign® and Fair Wear® certified. These certifications ensure that we are taking steps to create a sustainable future for garment production, as well as focusing on worker health, safety, and dignity. At every step of production we are looking for ways to reduce waste and cut our carbon footprint.
Our Giveback
When Coalatree was founded in 2010, one of our goals was to give back to the environment and to our community. In the past we have supported programs like Save Our Canyons, Cottonwood Canyons Foundation, and the US Forest Service. We are always looking for ways to advocate for our local community, and our global environment.
