The Trailhead Adventure Pants are my go-to pants for literally everything. I use them to hike, skate, travel… they’re classy enough to wear to church and rugged enough to withstand the elements.
I've never worn a pant so comfortable yet so durable at the same time. Backpacking in the rain and snow or sliding on rocks in the desert, they have always held up and kept me warm and dry.
I know these were made for adventuring into the outdoors, but I’ve loved them so much, they’ve become apart of my everyday attire when adventuring around my neighborhood and own backyard.I know these were made for adventuring into the outdoors, but I’ve loved them so much, they’ve become apart of my everyday attire when adventuring around my neighborhood and own backyard.
Hands down the most comfortable hiking pants that I've ever worn. I wear them for all activities - photography, backpacking, rafting, and more. Not to mention they look great and fit perfect too. Can't recommend them enough - my #1 pick for hiking pants.
Whether I am hiking, climbing, or traveling the Trailheads are my go-to pants. I've bushwacked in thorns, snowshoed on peaks and forged through rivers and these are the only pant that can stand the test.
My Trailhead Pant is truly a breath of fresh air--the relaxed fit and four-way stretch fabric allows for a truly cozy experience while traveling, hiking or spending days in the studio.
I’ve spent years trying to find the right pair of pants for my travels. Jeans were never built for more than a city and would wear out right away, and climbing pants were always cut like parachute pants. I’ve spent years surfing in 4-way stretch boardshorts--and this is the first time I’ve found pants that bring me that same feeling of comfort and freedom. These pants will move any way you tell them to, and that’s the beauty of it. I’ve worn these climbing in upstate New York to hiking under northern lights in Norway. They’re the perfect travel companion, plain and simple.
They're tough, spill-resistant, and comfortable as hell. Did I mention they're comfortable, too? Because oh baby are they.
Coalatree’s modern take on the multi-purpose hiking pant is a durable, lightweight, and comfortable option for long days on the trail or putting up routes at your local crag. Made with tear-resistant nylon ripstop, the Trailhead Adventure Pant might be a front-runner for the most versatile hiking pant.
-The best hiking pants.
-They're durable, smartly built, and ridiculously comfy.
-The Trailhead pants are damn near perfect.
I bought the largest size, I’m 5’ 0” and weigh about 195, was reluctant that they would fit. But, I love these pants, they’re super comfortable and fit wonderfully!! I bought the black pair and plan on buying the other colors as well!!
3 things make these pants awesome:
1) durable ripstop stretchy nylon - means I can climb and hike without worrying about something exploding
2) water repellent - went out in the rain and was dry by the time I needed to climb
3) the ties at the cuffs kept me warm as temps dipped to 50s
I like everything about these pants.
I ordered the regular pair and the slim fit pair, both in the largest sizes available. I'm 6'1, about 230lbs, a 38 inch waist, and a... non-athletic build. The slim fit pair was too tight for me, but the regular pair fits amazingly well. For whatever reason, the largest size in the slim fit version correlates to a 34-36, while the largest size in the regular version correlates to a 36-38. I wish there was more consistency in that, but for my needs one of those works great. None of the options fit my girlfriend, however, who is jealous and upset. She's 5'2, 150lbs, and has wide hips.
I've had the pants for a month or so and they are extremely comfy, have a good amount of stretch, and shed water like it's nothing. The gusseted crotch and stretch allow for great range of movement. The front pockets are deep, and there's a small hidden key/coin pocket inside the waistline.
I wear them any chance I get. So far I haven't had a chance to take them to more rugged or demanding outdoor locations, but will soon take them for a few weeks traveling overseas as one of two pairs of pants. We'll see how they hold up over time and use.
I'd like to see a few more size options, a better/more secure closure for the rear pockets, and the price could be lower (~$75). Might be nice to have a few more color options, and perhaps a version with additional leg/cargo pockets or a inner pocket liner to keep sunglasses separate from other items.
Fabric is very comfortable. I enjoy the feature that it can be packed into it's own front right pocket. It's a bit challenging, due to the deep pocket being limited by it's own size, but it's doable.
The drawstrings at the ends of the pants legs are a bit long, and they create big bows of string at the bottom that lay on the legs a bit strange. Another reviewer said he just flips them under, so I ended up doing the same.
Pockets are mostly open, back right pocket has Velcro if I remember correctly. Some kind of zipper pocket would be nice, or loops for carabiners/keys. Also, little pockets within larger pockets are features I would enjoy in these pants.
The fabric is definitely meant for warmer weather. I took them out backpacking in the fall in Michigan (30°F weather) and I definitely had to wear layers under and over.
Overall, I'm keeping them for life. I'll be waiting for spring to try out their slim fit pants in my size and in different colors.
